The Present and Future of GeoPrediction

HOUSTON, TX—April, 2015

Ikon Science, the global GeoPrediction company, announced today an agreement for the commercial licensing of CoViz® Lite, developed by California based Dynamic Graphics®, Inc., as part of its RokDoc software packages to create a new RokDoc state-of-the-art visualization system.

CoViz Lite is an add-on 3D visualization system for RokDoc featuring select capabilities derived from the original CoViz® 4D software that has been used by asset teams for over a decade. Ikon Science′s RokDoc GeoPrediction platform for Rock Physics, Seismic Reservoir Characterization, GeoPressure and 3D GeoMechanics will be enhanced by the inclusion of this visualization capability which will allow users to better interpret the output of RokDoc. The ability to view the complex rock and fluid property maps and data volumes resulting from RokDoc′s wide range of integrated workflows in full 3D will help geologists and engineers understand and analyse complex reservoirs and plan more efficient wells. The new Ji-Fi facies-driven impedance inversion process will gain full benefit from the rich data representation toolset available in CoViz Lite.

Dynamic Graphics Releases CoViz 4D version 7.2

New Features in CoViz 4D 7.2 to be shown at URTeC Conference in Denver CO

DENVER, CO—August, 2014

Dynamic Graphics (DGI) announces a new version of its quantitative visualization software package. The new features in CoViz 4D 7.2 include improved visualization of large seismic volumes, handling of new file types including WITSML servers version 1.4, and the ability to export STL files of 2D grids or structural models for 3D printing. New features have also been added to the CoViz 4D optional module, Sim2Pem, to improve elaborations around stress sensitivity in the petroelastic model. DGI will be demonstrating CoViz 4D 7.2 and the full 3D⁄4D synthetic seismic volume (Sim2Seis) workflow, along with other DGI software products, at the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC).

At the annual SPE conference, in Denver, CO, Dynamic Graphics, Inc. (DGI) will be offering a preview of a new well planning tool that will be available soon as an option to the popular CoViz 4D software. The new CoViz Integrated Well Designer allows geoscientists and engineers to plan well paths using CoViz 4D′s superior visualization environment. The CoViz Integrated Well Designer can be used to create drillable wells within the context of the asset teams′ geologic, seismic, and other 3D and 4D reservoir data.

  • Recently released versions of CoViz 4D include significant new features for the rapid, integrated, quantitative analysis and comparison of diverse 3D and 4D data sets. In particular this includes the quantitative analysis of 4D seismic data and attributes within a multidisciplinary data fusion environment.
    In the image above a seismic discontinuity attribute (″coherency cube″) from around a North Sea Salt dome (in color) is displayed. The discontinuity attribute has been back-interpolated into the well data. This would allow, for example, the direct comparison of fault⁄fracture information from the seismic attribute with similar information recorded in image⁄well logs.

  • The real value of CoViz 4D is in providing the ideal 2D/3D/4D environment for true data integration and analysis. Integration of LiDAR datasets with other surface and subsurface information enables fuller examination and understanding of complex systems in their true environmental context.
    In this LiDAR dataset of nearly one billion points the Canadian city of Ottawa is presented in impressive detail, but can easily be manipulated and interrogated on even a laptop computer using CoViz 4D software.
